News & updates

On November 1, 2024, the PSDCP will transition to a new contract and services will remain with Canada Life. The new contract requires mandatory positive enrolment. We are pleased to complete positive enrolment for as many eligible members as possible.      Between September and early October 2024, Canada Life will complete enrolment for members using the personal information from the following authoritative sources:

  • Government of Canada: name, date of birth, language, level of coverage and effective date of coverage
  • Canada Life PSHCP account (if applicable): contact information
  • Canada Life PSDCP account: dependant information (if applicable)

What you need to do

You will receive a positive enrolment confirmation notice between September and early October, via your preferred method of communication.

The confirmation notice will include your enrolment details and a new PSDCP benefit card that has your new plan number. Validate your information and update it as required.

If you have not received your confirmation notice by early October, please contact us.

What you need to know

  • There are no changes to your dental benefits as part of this new contract.
  • Continue to use your current PSDCP benefit card and submit claims as you do today until October 31, 2024.
  • You will need to inform your dental provider that as of November 1, 2024, dental claims must be submitted with your new plan number, which can be found on your new PSDCP benefit card.
  • You may have already completed positive enrolment for the Public Service Health Care Plan (PSHCP), but benefit plans under the Government of Canada are separate and governed by different rules. As such, positive enrolment must be completed and maintained separately on all benefit plans.
